3 Texas Shark Attacks in One Day Bull Shark 2024, Padre Island, Tabitha Sullivant

Three bull shark attacks were report on Padre Island, Texas. Around 11 AM, July 4, 2024, a man swimming with his family was pulled underwater by a after, authorities received another 911 call reporting two more shark attacks. An unidentified woman was bitten on the calf, and a video shows bystanders assisting her while a man punched the shark until it released her. Good Samaritans used makeshift tourniquets to help her before she was transferred to a hospital missing most of her calf on the left of the bystanders, who fought the shark, sustained minor injuries but did not need medical attention. Emergency teams, including helicopters and boats, were deployed to track and corral the shark. Despite their efforts, the shark escaped to deeper waters. Cameras captured what appeared to be a large bull shark in the area. Victoria Ramos, who may have been boogie boarding, was also bitten on the leg. Initial reports suggested the same shark was responsible for multiple attacks. Earlier this year, a 14-foot great white shark named LeeBeth was tracked near South Padre Island and a young girl was also bitten on the arm by a shark in Galveston, Texas.
