A Blended Wing Body Concept, by Cranfield University, MSc AVD
The BW’11 Eagle Ray is a very large airliner carrying up to 853 passengers on route as long as London - Auckland. Its unconventional shape reduces the drag and helps making it a lighter aircraft. Combined with a powerplant made of 14 electric fans, it generates fuel savings per seat of 43% compared to an A380. Complying with future regulations, it will be ready for entry into service in 2030.
