The Armenian Museum of America Presents the Dudukner Ensemble & Arahet Choir

Welcome to the latest concert featuring the Dudukner Ensemble and the Arahet Choir. This is the 21st concert in our online series was pre-recorded in Yerevan and also on location at St. Gevork Monastery in Mughni.   The Arahet Choir was founded by Tatyana Minasyan, who is the artistic director and conductor, and the Dudukner Ensemble was founded by Georgi Minasov. Georgi has created an array of duduks including alto, baritone, and bass with a vision to develop the instrument beyond its traditional range and sound. This performance is unique because duduk, “the soul of the Armenian people,” has been integrated with liturgical music arranged by Komitas, Nerses Shnorhali, and Sayat Nova.
