Boots On Their Feet by SKIN DEEP 1985

Headline band at the second Whitecross Rock Festival in 1985, no studio recording could do justice to the energetic experience that was the excellent Skin Deep. Their very presence altered the atmosphere of the festival, and although they came in peace, some feared that it wouldn’t take much to spark off a riot and many of the locals who came to staff the event wore their steel toe-capped boots just in case. Skin Deep’s guitarist was a Whitecross man, and his subsequent tragic death is very probably the reason why they did not emulate the feats of Grangemouth thrash band, The Exploited. As a live act, they were awesome, and who knows how far their fame (or notoriety) would have spread if they had not lost their guitarist. Sadly, one of their vocalists, Joob, has also passed away, as we learnt from a posting by his brother onto this site.
