’Grand Pas de Deux - Adagio’ - NUTCRACKER (Tchaikovsky) - National Opera of Ukraine

Mykyta Sukhorukov (The Prince) and Iuliia Moskalenko (The Sugar Plum Fairy) perform the Grand Pas de Deux - Adagio from Act II of the Nutcracker. A grand pas de deux is a suite of dances in which a male and a female dancer express their love through ballet steps. In the Nutcracker, the dance duet includes an ’adagio’, two ’variations’ (one for the Prince, one for the Fairy) and a ’coda’ to conclude the duet.
