Galop Marche
Lavinac was a Parisian and a distinguished music scholar. He was a pupil at the Paris Conservatory and taught there for
many years. He wrote many essays on theory and his “La Musique et les Musiciens“, a treatise on musical theory
including a famous comparison between keys and their emotional colours (B major “energetic“, E minor “sad, agitated“
and the like), was in print throughout his lifetime and for many years later. He also wrote an important early treatise
on Wagner. He was a minor composer and only his Galop Marche is
