BMPCC4K | Laowa 9mm f2.8 | Zero-D wide angle lens on the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K

After recently trying out the , Laowa sent me their new lens. The 9mm F/2.8 Zero-D. Laowa 9mm f2.8 : I love it. Whilst I liked the , it was a bit too wide for me so this one is perfect for super wide shots. It is sharp, has a nice shallow depth to field and like the 7.5 it has a very distinct and cool look. I took the lens to a place where we often go to test out gear so I can compare easily with previous shoots. Everything was shot handheld which is a good test in itself. Hence the slow motion. We shot for about an hour and went from dark to super bright. I didn’t have an ND filter so had to shoot at higher aperture once the sun was fully up. I intend to shoot a lot more with this lens but this is a good first test. Overall I really recommend this lens for anyone looking to get a nice wide prime lens. It is super light, has close to zero distortion and is really well made. More info on the lens here :
