Houston Police Officers Shoot Suspect Who Fired Shots At Them

The shooting happened around 7:45 p.m. May 18 near the intersection of Cheeves Drive and Heath Street in the East Little York neighborhood, according to the Houston Police Department. Police identified the man who was killed by officers as Deven Nnawuchi. HPD patrol officers responded to an report of a stolen vehicle at a residence at 11100 Lera Road. A female told officers her boyfriend (Nnawuchi) was behaving erratically while they were in her vehicle and repeatedly pointed a gun at her daughters. Nnawuchi then kicked his girlfriend and her daughters out of her 2008 black Chevrolet Tahoe and fled the location.
