Double Trouble: Russia’s Dual Iskander-M Assault on Ukraine
In the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Russia is using a new tactic involving Iskander missiles. These missiles are being fired in quick succession at the same target, catching Ukrainian forces off guard and causing maximum casualties. The Iskander-M missile is a short-range ballistic weapon capable of eliminating enemy command posts, equipment convoys, and air defense systems. Its effectiveness lies in its specialized warheads and its ability to challenge enemy air defense systems. With a payload of 400kg to 700kg, the Iskander-M can target enemy positions up to 500 km away. This new tactic, called ’Double Tap’, is surprising Ukrainian forces, who are used to expecting a single Iskander strike and have to adjust their positions quickly to avoid being targeted.
