Englishes around the World - Introduction

In this course, I discuss varieties of English that are spoken all around the globe. This is the introduction, which presents five goals for this course. Once we are finished, you will be able to 1) identify different World Englishes 2) discuss how English has spread around the world 3) use on-line resources for the study of World Englishes 4) group World Englishes into different categories 5) understand and criticize theoretical models of how new Englishes develop.
