France riots after teen shot dead by police

Thousands of extra police are being deployed around France to tackle widespread rioting after a teenage boy was shot dead by officers at a traffic stop. The two officers involved have been arrested however both police and fire brigades continue to be targeted by rioters. French President Emmanuel Macron said the shooting was “inexcusable” as the government promises a prompt investigation into the 17-year-old’s death.
