RSPCA turns 200 - saving and protecting animals in the UK for 200 years (UK/(Global)) 8/Jan/2024

200 years ago a chat over a drink sparked a global movement to look after animals (with countries organising their own groups and societies in the two centuries that followed) and the RSPCA is now 200 years old this year. As the SPCA became the RSPCA later. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a charity operating in England and Wales which promotes animal welfare.
