The illusion of pointe in bare feet: Anna Pobokova Exhibition

This is how a girl with supple and strong feet can dance on the tops of her toes barefoot (or with nothing more than soft slippers to make pirouettes easier) and give the illusion of dancing on full pointe. Bourrées (or any step) done on demi pointe can’t produce such an effect of weightlessness. It’s softer and lighter than with pointe shoes and their hard boxes. Of course it’s only as good as the shape and stretch of the arch, as for demi pointe and full pointe. This is a video made by Thomas D about 10
