Researchers present new snake robot made of origami folded textiles
In the future, snake robots might be used to save lives in search and rescue operations or for field inspections and space exploration.
Researchers at University of Southern Denmark (SDU) have developed a soft snake robot capable of rectilinear locomotion using composite textiles and origami techniques. The robot could lead the way for a new type of bio-inspired robot that will prove useful in scenarios where space is confined and the terrain uneven.
Listen to PhD student Burcu Seyidoğlu from SDU Biorobotics explain what it is all about.
