Breaking In Horse For Cart Work (1910-1919)

Breaking in horse for cart work. Location of events unknown. Horse bucking & kicking in a yard; trees; white picket fence in BG. 1 man has hold of a rope from the halter or bridle; another holds a rope that’s tied round horse’s front leg. 3rd horse-breaker throws a lasso round horse’s hind leg. Horse hops around trying to buck. Now same group are trying to prepare horse for cart pulling- horse is wearing a collar; etc. and stands next to a cart. A young woman also present this time. Two men grab horse by collar and get him to hobble in front of cart- which looks a bit like a small gypsy wagon — 1 leg tied up. Shot of horse hitched to cart in a team w/ another horse. W/ the men pulling on ropes the horses move & pull wagon. Saddle breaking the horse. Man starts to mount horse (from side away from camera) but horse bucks and runs toward camera.
