They don’t have to be fantastical. They happen every day. If you’ve ever learned to smile through dire times, or achieved your dreams, or survived, or set yourself free - your story is the miracle.“ I love that I can express myself through the visuals in my work. The story behind this video means a lot to me, and probably to all those trying to break into the creative industry. Broken up into three parts, we see ’The Journey’, ’The Struggle’, and ’The Release’. I was very lucky to be given the opportunity to create my interpretation of Blackmill’s ’Miracle’. When it comes to music that’s as visual and inspiring as Blackmill’s, we all have our own personal story that plays in our heads. This was mine. The mutual love myself and the artist share of the Scottish landscape and where we live gave me the desire to shoot in the places I grew up: Aberdeen and the Cairngorms National Park. Created with a team of just 5 people, myself included, and a small kit of equipment. Technical info: Shot on Panasonic Lumix GH4 mainly with Panasonic 25mm 1.4 lens Shot in 4k down res and 1080p 96fps slow motion. Time-lapse shots on GH4 Glidetrack and GlideCam 4000 hand held stabiliser for some shots Edited in FCP X at 1080p rendered to 720p for upload Three colour looks built one for each of the movie sections.
