How many maps can you play without bots?

All this game, and none of it can be played. Song: Witch - TotalDeadCenter This was an idea I’d had for a while, and I thought that now that the issue is in the spotlight, now would be a good time to execute it. This is a TF2 Botlocke, or more accurately, a TF2 Map Botlocke. The rules are simple, queue for all 70 “Main Game Modes“ maps, requeue at the end of a successful bot-free round, remove the map and requeue immediately if a bot is in the lobby at all, and the challenge ends when you either play 10 full rounds in a row without bots or when you run out of maps. Feel free to try it on your own! I will say, this challenge was meant for peak player activity hours. If you queue for exclusively the less popular maps outside of peak hours, you’re probably gonna win the challenge pretty easily, as the game bounces you back and forth between the two or three active servers for those maps, while the lesser number of bots that run during that time are sent to the far more popular maps. The games also probably won’t be that engaging, as you’d be lucky to get half a lobby, let alone a full one. I played it a little differently for this video so that I could get a good clip of dying to a bot as often as I could, which is why the number at the end of the video is so high when compared to the number of maps. Bots would get kicked before I got to them, get kicked too soon after I got to them and not show up on the freezecam, leave due to lack of real players, get stuck somewhere in the map, or sometimes be a spy that doesn’t kill and instead only exists to advertise the bot hosters’ discords and scam shops in chat. While recording for this, I even found another new type of bot that shows up at 1:20 in the video. Instead of getting sniper bots on Harvest as I had expected, I was greeted with this weird lobby full of Scout bots. They spammed kick/kick bot/kick cheater/etc. in the chat in unison, and instead of having any sort of fixed path, they seemed to stand still until they found a player they could reach and would track that player until they killed it. Watching them move right before the freezecam zoom happened is kinda freaky, their movements resemble that of a school of fish. All that being said, this video took a lot of time, effort, and patience. I’m really proud of how it came out, I hope you all like it, and most importantly, I hope it serves to prove just how inescapable and unbearable this problem is. This is video evidence of bots on EVERY main gamemode map in the game, not just the popular ones or the ones with lots of sightlines. There isn’t a single Payload, Capture The Flag, Attack/Defense, King Of The Hill, or Control Points map in the game that you can queue for and be safe from these game-ruining aimbots. Thanks for watching! #tf2 #savetf2 #fixtf2
