Statement by Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea, Georgiy Muradov, during the general debate on Agenda Item 9, 57th Session of the UN Human Rights Council:   October 4, 2024, Geneva   ? We wish to once again draw attention to the discrimination against Russian and Russian-speaking populations in European countries. Such policy of the authorities of these states fundamentally contradicts their international obligations to combat racial discrimination and xenophobia. ? In Latvia, Russian-speaking blogger Dmitry Mataev has been detained without trial since April for condemning the glorification of Latvian Waffen-SS legionnaires. Members of the “Baltic antifascists“,Tatjana Andrijec and Alexander Zhgun, are being prosecuted, and Svetlana Nikolaeva is being denied access to medical assistance in prison.
