Coffee is a popular beverage that is derived from coffee beans, which are actually seeds of the coffea plant. Coffee is known is contain a high number of bioactive compounds, including caffeine but also important antioxidants like caffeic acid and chlorogenic acid. In this lesson, we discuss new research looking at the effects of caffeine and coffee (including other non-caffeine substances in coffee) on brain activity and functioning.
