DustClean - Road Sweeping Robot

DustClean is a road sweeping robot designed and developed by RoboTech srl in the framework of the DustBot project, a project funded by the European Commission aimed at designing, developing and demonstrating an innovative system based on robotic and information and communication technologies for the improvement of the management of urban hygiene. DustClean is an autonomous mobile robot endowed with brushes for sweeping and collecting garbage from the ground usually present in pedestrian zones of crowed city centres, such as wastepaper, cans, cigarettes, etc. The main service provided by DustClean is maintenance of the cleaning of pedestrian zones: by sweeping continuously and potentially 24h per day, the robot helps preserving the cleaning of the working area. DustClean is a four wheels vehicle equipped with two frontal brushes, a central brush and a container with automatic discharge system for collecting the garbage. Thanks to its sensors and software and using a map of the working area, the robot works autonomously and safely avoiding obstacle such as urban forniture and people.
