He also washed His disciples’ feet and warned Peter about his denial. Later that night, Jesus was arrested and taken to be interrogated before the Sanhedrin and Pontius Pilate. On Friday, He was sentenced to death, crucified, and buried. On Sunday, Jesus rose from the dead and appeared to His disciples. The events of the Passion Week were prophesied in the Old Testament and fulfilled through Jesus Christ. Despite attempts to deny His resurrection, the four Gospels clearly describe His empty tomb and appearances after the resurrection. The truth of Jesus’ resurrection has persisted for over two thousand years and continues to be celebrated by Christians worldwide.
