This is the first of six consecutive shows at the Uris Theatre (which has been renamed Gershwin Theatre in 1983) and the first time a rock act would ever play a Broadway venue - since Queen opened up for ’Mott the Hoople’, they were the very first band to do so! Unfortunately, only one of these six dates has emerged in form of a recording, especially unfortunate since this residency would end up being the abrupt end of Queen’s first North American tour as Brian fell seriously ill with hepatitis after the last show on May 11th.
