‘Love as an emotion confuses yet infuses.’ So beautifully expressed in the evergreen chartbuster – ‘Superstar’ , recreated and performed by the famous sibling duo – Carpenters. The song is sung in the velvety – voice and graceful style of the ravishing Karen Carpenter along with brother Richard Carpenter on the piano. Superstar indeed became one of their signature songs. The song was originally written and composed by Bonnie Bramlett & Leon Russell feat. Eric Clapton , and produced by Dalaney Bramlett. It was released in 1969 under the label – Atlantic Records. The song has been been covered by well-known artists , but the best known version has been by the Carpenters. The Carpenters Version of Superstar was released as a single in 1971 , produced by Jack Daugherty under the label A&M and rose to No.2 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop-single chart and earned a Golden Record Status and did splendidly well globally.
