Prospekt Stachek (Strikes Avenue) is the street in Kirovsky district of St Petersburg, Russia. It based on a former Peterhoff road which starts with Narva Triumphal Arch. It goes through Putilov Plant (Kirov Plant), one of the largest and most significant plants in St Petersburg, founded in 1801. On the 9th of January, 1905, 150,000 workers of Putilov plant managed a strike and moved from the Plant to Palace Square and Winter Palace to declare a protest to the Russian Emperor Nicholas The II. Back in that day the uprising was suppressed. But this event got a status of the first Russian revolution - The Revolution of 1905 which is launched a process which is led to the Revolution of February, 1917 and the Great October Revolution of 1917. Nowadays, it’s one of main transportation arteries of the city of St Petersburg with a great architecture of 1930’s constructivism and 1950’s Stalinist neoclassicism.
