This is the German Last Ditch Assault, where American troops at Lanzerath were among those who faced the blitz’s first wave, which included Tiger 2 tanks. Their actions and desperate defense caused significant damage and won precious time for the Allies to stop the Bulge advance also known as Operation Watch on the Rhine.
