Tommy Emmanuel Plays Chet Atkins’ “Dark Eyes“ Guitar at The Country Music Hall of Fame ~ Nashville
THIS GUITAR IS BEING OFFERED FOR SALE AT
Our good friend Tommy Emmanuel brings Chet Atkins’ Gretsch 6120 Prototype aka “DARK EYES“ to The Country Music Hall of Fame Gretsch event on July 16th, 2016. Tommy talks a little about the guitar’s history and the now famous legacy of Chet Atkins and Gretsch Guitars... and then pours his heart out with this absolutely haunting piece. Bravo Tommy... Bravo!
What a heartfelt and stirring tribute to Mr. Chet Atkins and his early Gretsch “Dark Eyes“ Proto guitar... It was like Chet’s ghost was there in the room, watching over everyone. History was made today... simply amazing. Tommy is playing a song he wrote for his wife called “Clara’s Theme“
We were deeply moved in a way that we have not been moved before... with such a deep sense of pride, loss, honor, melancholy, bittersweet, joy, and finality. We are so proud to be a part of Chet’s legacy and hopefully (God willing) our guitar will end up at The Country Music Hall of Fame for ever and ever... for all to marvel.
A sincere thanks to Tommy Emmanuel, Max Stavron for making all of this possible, and to Fred Grestch, Joe Carducci, John Knowles, Mark Pritcher, Mick Buck, and all the good folks at CMHOF.
