’MiG 23 OPERATION FROM A HIGHWAY STRIP’ This archive footage in 1983 of East Germany shows a joint exercise of Air Forces of the National People’s Army MiG - 23MF and Soviet MiG - 23M operating from a Highway that could use as an emergency standby airstrip. It also shows the interaction of LSK Regiment ZU-23-2 gunners and fuel bowser units moving in, the effectiveness of Antonov An-26T transporting ground crews as well as Mil Mi-8T Hip Cs carrying Vympel K-13 missiles.
