[As seen here: ] The laundry bags strategically placed at the bottom of the stairs made me wonder how frequently people had taken that particular spiral spill. The lyrics popped into my head: “I’m fallin’ down a spiral, destination unknown,“ and, of course, “Somewhere in a lonely hotel room....“ And this being the day *after* my last NL gig that year, I was kicking myself for not thinking to cover such an obviously awesome song by a Dutch band at my shows in the Netherlands. I vowed not to repeat that mistake. So yes, Sterling and I will be performing this at our upcoming shows in the Netherlands and Germany in April, 2018. I’ve always loved this song, so it was fun to add it to our acoustic repertoire. Sort of like a similar issue I had with Toto, I never realized this song was originally sung by two different people in portions of the verses. I apparently didn’t actually pay enough attention to music videos back then. But now knowing who sings what, I’m more conscious about making the subtle color shifts between the two vocal parts. Or at least that’s the intention. The extent to which I achieve this is up to you to decide. :) I should mention that my son Timmy bought me this cool shirt. It’s so great for this song, and not just because of the faux Van Goghiness of it all. But because stormtroopers definitely know what it feels like being cloned. Thank you to Wild Dog Stomp pedals out of Australia for providing the awesome stomp. I keep finding good uses for it. Here’s my model: Thanks as well to Ovation for the beautiful Custom Legend guitar. A big thanks to you for listening/watching, and for helping spread the music, -Mike
