The Carnival of the Animals (Le Carnaval des animaux) is a humorous musical suite by the French composer Camille Saint-Saëns written in February 1886 during his vacation in Austria.
The Cuckoo in the Depths of the Woods was originally scored for a chamber group of flute, clarinet, two pianos, glass harmonica, xylophone, two violins, viola, cello and double bass.
In our organ arrangement for the mystical chorale on the 3rd manual we used the unique timbre of the Steinmeyer organ: Vox humana 8’ with Tremulo.
The Cuckoo sounds on the solo stop of the 1st manual: Doppelflöte 8’.
