Mangoworm infestations occur all year long in The Gambia. But we experience seasonal peaks at times. The weather has changed in the last 2-3 weeks, we have cold nights, around 20 Celsius. Too cold for many dogs! They dig holes to sleep in and become heavily infested from the fly eggs that are buried there. At the moment we find maggots in 8 out of 10 dogs that come to the clinic! (...the most boring Vet Clinic in the world...)
