Recorded in 1973, [private pressing of which only 1 copy believed to exist] Released 1992 500 Limited copies. Charge was a trio formed in mid-1972 from the ashes of Baby Bertha and Sweet Poison. The line-up is: Dave Ellis guitars/vox/song-writer; Ian Mclaughlin, bass and Pete Gibbons, drums. It was recorded at SRT Studios, Luton, in one 10-hour session on a freezing January day in 1973. The team consists of serious people. For example, Alan Spenner and Neil Hubbard—both of The Grease Band and Joe Cocker’s Mad Dogs—went on to play on Kokomo and Roxy Music, as well as on the original Jesus Christ Superstar album. Ric Grech - from “Family”, “Traffic” and “Blind Faith” - then solo and “KGB”. But the album did not become an event; it was released in a very small edition and accordingly sold out.
