From the Levi’s Archives Episode 23: Conserving 9Rivet | LEVI’S

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Levi’s® 501®, Historian Tracey Panek led a crucial project to conserve the oldest pair of Levi’s® overalls in our Archives. Identified as “9Rivet,“ this garment showcased unique features lost in contemporary designs. Designer Paul Dillinger undertook the meticulous conservation of the overalls, using advanced techniques to stabilize and preserve the worn jeans. Beyond preserving history, the project informed designers and serves as a gold standard for Levi’s® commitment to evolving and improving their iconic style.
