Juan Kunchikuy, a hunter-turned-naturalist at the Yachana Lodge in Ecuador,
uses his blowgun to spear a papaya on the head of New York Times columnist
Nicholas Kristof. The blowgun has a range of up to 150 feet. “It’s better
than a shotgun, because it’s silent,“ Mr. Kunchikuy explained. “You can
shoot repeatedly if you miss the first time.“
