INTERVIEW 2004 11 12 Not content with fronting the hugely successful ska-punk outfit No Doubt and creating her own clothing range “Lamb“, Gwen Stefani is striking out with her own album, “Love Angel Music Baby“. Just don’t call is a solo record, as Gwen explains: “I wish I could call it a solo record, but my ego is big enough already and it’s really a collaboration between all these amazing, talented people.“ Those amazing, talented people include such legends as Dr. Dre, Eve, The Neptunes, Andre 3000 and No Doubt colleague Tony Kanal. “Making the album with all these people made me think of Alice in Wonderland, because it was kind of the trip I was on. It was as if I was being pointed into one room where I’d try making music with whoever was in there, before being pointed into another room where I’d get to try with someone else. It was magical, like the record was being written before my eyes.“
