The Sound of Speed: Half-speed tape looping

I will be playing live with the electronic music duo Basidium on Saturday March 30, 2024 at Eliza’s Lounge 52 High St. in Mineral Point, Wisconsin at 8pm. Please join us if you are able and willing. An Akai GX-370D reel-to-reel tape recorder was used to make the initial tape loop which was slowed down from 7 1/2 ips to 3 3/4 ips after it was recorded. An Akai Headrush E-1 digital delay was used to create the second acoustic guitar loop (not really looped but set to a very long, infinitely repeating, delay). The homemade electric lap steel was played through an Electro-harmonix reissue Triangle Big Muff fuzz and and EHX Memory Toy delay.
