At least four people have been killed by Typhoon Shanshan in Japan. The storm began dumping water on southern parts of Japan on Thursday with wind speeds of up to 252 kilometres per hour. After making landfall, the typhoon weakened to a severe tropical storm and is expected to move towards central parts of the country over the weekend. Japan’s meteorological agency has predicted some areas of the country could see over 700 millimetres of rain.
