#bass #bassist #basshistory #transcription #dennisbelfield #paulthompson
Digging into the history of one of the most unsung studio bass players of the 1970s and 1980s: Dennis Belfield. Almost 300 bass-playing album credits including Rufus, Kenny Rogers, Rick Springfield, Roy Orbison, Ringo Starr, Neil Young, Barry Manilow, and Animotion among many, many others.
Let me tell you why Mr. Belfield is a bass player you should know about (and have probably already heard) with one of the most diverse discographies you’ll ever see. I’ll break down my Top 5 bass lines from his amazing career (including a 70’s R&B CLASSIC, one with Jaco Pastorius, and a famous groove he crafted with @timpierceguitar in 1982) and show you why so many artists called on him to provide the bottom to their music!
