Overturned Finding of Excessive Force at San Jose State Library
Former San Jose State University Police Officer Johnathon Silva was fired for excessive force and misleading investigators following a violent arrest of a man in the school’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library on March 17, 2016. Silva’s firing was overturned on appeal, but he then resigned and has since been hired as a Los Gatos-Monte Sereno police officer.
