The original version of the song by the Eagles features Henley (singing the opening verse) and an electric guitar line by Felder and Joe Walsh. A rendition of the song appeared on the group’s 1980 live album, Eagles Live, and an acoustic version was included on Hell Freezes Over (1994). The Hell Freezes Over version is performed with a total of eight guitars, with a Spanish influence as Don Felder plays a flamenco interlude.
